The 2018 Del Ray Halloween Parade
This year’s Del Ray Halloween Parade—the very impressive 22nd annual—will take place on Sunday, October 28th beginning at 2 PM: just a few days from Halloween proper, in other words.
The all-ages, well-costumed, and completely free parade steps off on Mount Vernon Avenue to the south of East Bellefonte and marches its playfully ghoulish way south to the playing fields of the Mount Vernon Recreation Center at Mount Vernon and Commonwealth avenues.
There at the parade finish line there’ll be a whole host of family-friendly activities, with trick-or-treat goodie bags available (including healthy, non-candy versions) as well as apple cider, cookies, hot dogs, and other refreshments, plus Goblin Games and live music served up by Mars Rodeo. It’s a family-style Halloween bash following up the festive procession, and it’s all just a few minutes away from your luxurious accommodations here at Morrison House!
The Costumery at the Del Ray Halloween Parade: Of the Two-legged, Four-legged, and Wheeled Varieties
The annual Del Ray Halloween Parade is a come-one, come-all celebration of All Hallow’s Eve, and besides garbed-up kids and their families the event features costumed pets and Halloween-decorated strollers. Indeed, there’s a Pet Costume Contest and a Stroller Competition as part of the affair, free to enter. The varied categories in the Pet Costume Contest include such winners as How Could You Do This to Me?
Those awards for primped-up pooches and spooky strollers are only some of the honors given out during the Halloween Parade; others include Best Decorated House and Best Decorated Business.
